Dear Pet Parent,
Thank you for your recent inquiry
regarding our services. At Merry Mutts
we believe that our guests are entitled to the following: health, safety,
comfort and, above all else, love. Our staff of dog lovers is dedicated to
providing these things in a happy, fun, play environment. Here, your pet will not be crated or caged
during their stay, but will enjoy supervised playtime with other guests and our
friendly staff during the day, and relax in their own comfortable suite at
night.
The first step in developing a
relationship with you and your pet is the completion of our enrollment package,
enclosed. This will provide us with the
information we’ll need to ensure the very best in personalized care. To enroll,
simply complete the forms and return them to Merry Mutts,
either by mail, email or in person. Along with the forms, we will need
proof that the following vaccinations are current: DHLPP, Rabies, and Bordetella. After receiving your paperwork, we will
schedule a time for an initial meeting with you and your dog.
At this meeting we will review
your forms, discuss your dog’s personality, check to ensure that all required
vaccinations are up to date, and complete a temperament evaluation of your pet.
This
evaluation involves a set of structured interactions designed to determine if
your pet is people and dog friendly and would thrive in a highly socialized
environment.
Following
the temperament evaluation, we progress to the controlled introduction of your pet
into the play area. Our guests are put in playgroups with those of similar size
and/or temperaments. Your pet is first introduced to one dog at a time and then
into the group. Our staff takes great care in guiding your pets’ progress as they
acclimate to the staff and the various play styles of the other guests in the
playgroup.
While
most pets have an appropriate temperament for daycare, there are some who
cannot adapt to it. The safety of all of
our guests is our highest priority, and we cannot accept aggressive, territorial
or toy possessive dogs. All pets must pass the temperament test in order to be
admitted to the facility.
While
we take every precaution possible for a safe, healthy environment, and guests
are supervised at all times, we ask that you also realize that incidents may
happen whenever dogs socialize together.
The Merry Mutts Warranty program provides for the rare instances in
which veterinarian services may be necessary.
There is a one time $5.00 fee for this.
